Main Street Coordinating Board
Date: Monday, February 7 10, 2022 - 1 1:30 a.m.
1, Call to Order: Ranada .lack, President

Board Members Present: Ranada Jack, Carol Terrell, Jay Givens, John Turpen, Janice
Payne, Tonya Keesee, Diane Martinez and Phyllis Wall.
City of Plainview Main Street representatives: Melinda Brown and Tori Huddleston.
Guest: Kristi Aday, EDC Director, and Elizabeth Piroli, Intern to the City of Plainview.
2. Jan(..)ary Board Min(..)fes
Tonya Keesee made a motion to approve the January Board minutes as printed.
The second was voiced by Carol Terrell. The motion passed with an 8-0 vote.
1 Staff Updates
Melinda Brown reported that the City Council has approved the Main Street Bylaws.
She shared that in answer to the question from the board regarding the decision
making authority of committees would be determined as committees are formed.
The fagade and mural grant season are through February 25, and Melinda
encouraged the board to continue to let businesses know.
Ms. Brown thanked the board for their renewed board applications. She stated that
there are two open positions, and applications have been received. Once the
positions are filled, there will be a determination for positioning the board on the off-
year to reset the new bylaws length of service terms.

Ranada Jack and Tori Huddleston reported on the February 2nd Saturday sponsored
by Betty Faye Beauty Bar. It will include an opportunity for shoppers to pick the Super
Bowl winner. March 2nd Saturday will be hosted by Rock'n Buds.
5. Marketing/ Organization - Fona Kc;esc;e/Jordan Hrlbacek/.lay Givens
a. Open House -April 8 - Updates
Tonya reported on the plans that the Marketing committee has for the Ribbon Cutting
in April. A part of the event will be a Sip`n See with the fee to be 10.00 per participant
with the fee to be returned to the budget for future events.

e. Downtown Clean-up Updates -Diane Martinez
Diane reported the trash cans are great aong the new streetscape. She encouraged
the board to continue to pick up trash that the West Texas wind blows around
downtown.
Janice Payne suggested a community presentation on the History of Downtown.

a. Budget Review
The budget was included in the board meeting packet for reference.
b. Budget Amendment -Review and Approve
Phyllis Wall made the motion to approve the balance of the $500.00 budget, after the
Main Street board shirt purchase, to be used by the April 81h Ribbon Cutting promotion
committee. The second was voiced by Diane Martinez. The motion passed with an 8-0
vote.
c. Sponsor Letter & Addresses
Jay Givens made a motion to send out the sponsorship `save the date' cards in
February to let businesses know to expect a sponsorship packet in April following the
ribbon cutting and to approve the purchase of sponsorship mugs. The second was
voiced by Janice Payne. The motion passed with an 8-0 vote.
& CVB Updates
Melinda Brown reminded the board of Go Big on Saturday, May 15, 2022.
