HomeMy WebLinkAbout12.05.2022 Board MinutesWq'ffi Df�aNTJ1�WN MINUTES Downtown Plainview Main Street Program & Tourism Coordinating Board Date: Monday, December 05, 2022 - 1 1:30 a.m. Board Members Present: Ranada Jack, Carol Terrell, Diane Martinez, Cynthia Gregory, Jay Givens, Janice Payne, Phyllis Wall. City of Plainview, Downtown Plainview Main Street representatives: Tori Huddleston. Guests: Kristi Aday, EDC Director, Tonya Keesee, ex-officio member representing the Plainview Chamber of Commerce. 1. Call to Order Time:l 1:36 a.m. 2. October Board Minutes - Review and Approve Carol Terrell motioned to accept the minutes as printed. Cynthia Gregory voiced the 2nd The motion to approve the October 2022 minutes passed with a 5-0 vote. 3. Consider and take necessary action on a HOT Grant Application Cynthia Gregory motioned to table the HOT Grant application until the January meeting for additional data. Janice Payne voiced the 2nd. The motion to table the HOT Grant application until January for additional data and discussion passed with a 6-0 vote. 4. Consider and take necessary action on the Friends of Downtown Budget Phyllis wall motioned to approve the Friends of Downtown budget amendment of $1500.00 for additional garlands. Carol Terrel voiced the 2nd. The motion to accept the Friends of Downtown budget amendment passed with a 6-0 vote. 5. Consider and take necessary action on downtown Kiwanis flags Carol Terrell motioned to table the flag project for further information and discussion. Janice Payne voiced the 2nd. The motion to table the flag purchase until the January meeting with additional information to be provided was approved with a 6-0 vote. 6. Consider and take necessary action in regard to Downtown Design Guidelines process Jay Givens motioned to approve the Downtown Design permit procedural flow chart. Carol Terrell voiced the 2nd. The motion to approve the City of Plainview design guideline process to include the Downtown Design Committee was approved with a 6-0 vote. 7. Downtown Holiday Event Review Carol Terrell, Promotion Committee chairperson, shared her thoughts on what she would like next year's holiday event process to look like. Each board member present, plus the ex- officio representatives, shared in the discussion. It was determined that overall, though there were struggles, the event was a wonderful gift to the community. Everyone thanked Carol Terrell for leading and doing a great job! 8.
