A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PIAINVIEW, TEXA~ AUTHORIZING TH~ ADVERTIS~V~NT
FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A I~W ANIMAL SHRLTER.
WHEREAS, the present Animal Shelter utilized by the Plainview
Animal Control Department is so small and deteriorating that it no
longer meets the needs of proper animal control enforcement; and
~E~EAS, the Texas State Health Departmmnt has informed the
City that they will no longer certify the present shelter to be used for
animal quarantine; and
WHEREAS, the Mayors and City Council M~mbers for the past five
years have been aware of a new shelter which will adequately meet the
n~.eeds of our ccmatunity for the continuation of proper animal control
enforcement will need to be constructed, and for these past years monies
have been budgeted from Revenue Sharing annually to pay the cost of a
new facility: and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT resolved by the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Plainview, Texas that notices that the City is accepting
bid~ for the construction of an Animal Shelter to be advertised and bids
be received so that a contract may be awarded at a regular council
r~aeting in Februa~3.
