A RESOLUTION OF ~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS

PURCHASE OF PARTS AND SERVICES TO RE~//~E RADIO AND POLICE

REPLACS~'~NT VEHICLES.
WHEREAS, there is a need to have radios and other police equipment
removed from the existing fleet of police vehicles; and.
WHEREAS, there is a need to install that equipment in replacement
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, January 10th bids were received and tmbulated for removal
and installation of this equipment, and the lowest and best bid being
that of Max Weatherford, Inc., dba as Two Way Radio of Plainview for
the amount of $6105.00; and
WHEREAS, $4500.00 was authorized in the current budget as an
estimated cost for this service which will require an additional
$1605o00 to be appropriated from unappropriated General Funds to cover
the cost of this transfer of equipment:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOL¥~D by the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Plainview, Texas that the lowest and best bid submitted
by Max W~atherford, Inc., dba as TWo Way Radio of Plainview in the
amount of $6105.00 be accepted and that $1605.00 be appropriated
frc~ unappropriated General Funds.

Dear Chief Anderson:
Associated Communications, Inc. is pleased to present the attached bid for
the removal and reinstallation of emergency equipment in the new vehicles.
Upon acceptance of this bid we will be prepared to transfer technical help
from our other service facilities so that the transition will be a smooth
and quick one. We will attempt to complete a minimum of two units per day,
and will replace any needed wiring, fuse holders, etc. at no additional
charge. All units will, at this time, receive a comprehensive FCC check
to insure the maximum possible perfOrmance, also at no extra expense. Any
units requiring repair will be repaired at our regular time and material
rates. These units Will be sed, of course, with the Service Captain
prior to any such repair.

Police Vehicles
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids addressed to the Chief of Police, Plainview Police Department,
Plainview, Texas, P.O. Box 1870, 79072, for the removal and installation
of Police Equipment in Police Vehicles, herein specified, will be received
at the office of the City Clerk at City Hall until 10:00 a.m.~ Monday,
January 10, 1983, at which time they will be opened and read. Bids shall
then be tabulated and presented to the Mayor and City Coundil at their
regular session on Tuesday, January 11~ 1983.
The Mayor, City Council, and Chief of Police reserve the right to reject
any and all bids and to waive .all formalities. Detailed specifications
may be obtained from the Chief of Police of the City of Plainview, Texas.
Bid Envelop shall be plainly marked: Police Equipment Installation Bid.
The price, or prices, quoted shall include all transportation, assembly,
and service charges fully prepaid to address at destination. Equipment
shall be complete and ready for service.

3. Remove visibar from eighteen (18) patrol vehicles and install visibars
on twenty (20) patrol vehicles.
Remove eighteen (18) shoteun locks and install twenty (20) shotgun
locks (19 new vertical, I old horizontal).
Remove eighteen (18) safety screens and install twenty (2.0) safety
screens.
6. Remove five con~oles from police C.I.D. units and install six consoles
in new units.
a. Control head for radio in console.
b. Siren box in console.
7. Install brake light kill on six C.I.D. units.
8. Remove five siren speakers and install six siren speakers on C.I.D.
units under hood or in grill area.
9. Remove twenty-eight (28) radios and install radios as listed below:
a. Three control heads in glove box.
b. Nineteen (19) which are in patrol consoles.
c. Six in C.I.D. consoles.
d. Two mobile walkie-talkie chargers in patrol consoles.

Vehicles will have seven wires already installed into roof area for
installation of emergency equipment on roof.
