A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAI_NVIEW, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO PARTICIPATE
WITH THE CITY NATIONAL BANK OF PLAINVIEW IN THE
INST~I.I.ATION OF A NEW CURB AND GURTER, AND ~II.RY
IMPR~ AT SIXTH AND AUSTIN STREET AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS FRC~4 THE UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND.
WHEREAS, it has been the policy of the City of Plainview to
encourage remodeling and beautification in the Central Business
District to participate with property owners in the installation of
concrete alleys ways and for the City to install new curb & gutter
along areas where new sidewalks are being installed; and
WHEREAS, the City has receive a request from City National Bank
of Plainview for assistance in improving and beautifying the area at
Sixth and Austin known as the old Shook Building corner; and
WHEREAS, the City staff has reviewed this request and has
determined that would be a worthy project to move toward beautifying the
Central Business District and the City's participation would be
approximately $8 r 600:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVt']D BY the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Plainview, Texas that the City be authorized to participate
in concrete alley improvements and installation of a curb & gutter
adjacent to new sidewalks in the area of Sixth and Austin Street and
that all work of which the City is participate will be carried-out in
accordance of the City's specifications stipulated by the Director of
Public Works, and appropriating funds from the un-appropriated General
Fund for said expense.
