A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS APPOINTI~G A~JNICIPAL COURT JUDGEFORTHECITYOF
PIAINVIEW.
WHEREAS, on March 1, 1983 Richard Cross resigned the position of
Municipal Court Judge for the City of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 19, Section 19-6 authorizes the City council to
appoint a Judge for the Municipal Court who shall be responsible for the
Municipal Court, and shall have all powers and authority as granted by,
and shall performthe duties required by the State Laws; and
WHEREAS, applications from prospective candidates for this
position were received, screened, and interviews were conducted; the
Mayor and members of the City council have reached a decision on whcm
they feel is mostqualified to serve the citizens of Plainviewinthis
position:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT resolved by the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Plainview, Texas that James Robert Davis, Jr., be appointed
to the position of Municipal Court Judge for the City of Plainview.
PASSED ANDAPPROVED in a Special Meeting of the City Council on
this 4th day of April, 1983.
