A PURCHASE CONTR~£T FOR THE SOUTH 33.0 FEET OF LOT
2, THE NORTH 18.0 FEET OF LOT 3, BLOCK 36, CO~ ~ FROM
HILL ADDITION, AND APPROPPJLkTING THE PURCHASE A~3u~'~'
THE FIRE TRAIN~G GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview has applied for and received grant
funds to develop an ongoing training program not only for the Plainview
Fire Department but for the Departments of our surrounding neighboring
towns; and
WHERFAS, in order for the City of Plainview Fire Dept. to provide
the required training additional facilities designed for that purpose
are needed; and
WHEREAS, vacant land known as the South 33.0 feet of Lot 2, the
North 18.0 feet of Lot 3, Block 36, College Hill Addition, adjacent to
the Quincy Sub-station is available and would be well suited for this
purpose; and
WHEREAS, owners of said property are willing to sell to the City
of Plainview in the amount of $4,500 by which would be an eligible grant
expenditure:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Plainview, Texas that the Mayor be authorized to enter into
a purchase contract with the owner of the property being the South 33.0
feet of Lot 2, and the North 18.0 feet of Lot 3, Block 36, College Hill
bztdition for the amount of $4,500 and instruct the Finance Dept. to
appropriate said amount from the Fire Training Grant Fund.
