A RESOLUTION OF 5IiE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS ACCEPTING THE L~EST AND BEST
BID AND AWARDING A PURCHASE CONTRACT.FOR MATERIALS
FOR STREET SEAL COATING~
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 82-2500 passed on September 28, 1982
authorized the purchase of material for street repair and seal coating;
and
WHEREAS, the invitations for bids were duly advertised and
received at 10:00 A.M. on March 29, 1983; and
WHEREAS, Hale County Sand & Gravel Co. of Plainview, Texas
submitted the lowest and best bid for seal coat gravel for a per cubic
yard price of 95¢ for 2400 cubic yards, Type A, Grade 4 Aggregate, total
price of $31,080; and
WHEREAS, Diamond Shamrock of Amarillo, Texas submitted the lowest
and best bid for liquid asphalt for the seal coating program in the
amount $0.6918 per gallon for 78 gallon 0A-135 Liquid Asphalt for a
total bid of $53,960.40:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of
the City of P lainview, Texas to purchase Seal Coating Gravel from Hale
County Sand & Gravel Co. of Plainview; and Liquid Asphalt from Diamond
Shamrock of Amarillo, Texas.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 12th day of April., 1983.
