RESOLUTION NO. R83-594
A RESOLUTION OF ~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS APPROVING CHANGE ORDERS NO. 1
AND 2 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF Rt~E CITY OF pIAINVIEW
WHEREAS, during the course of the work on the construction of the
Animal Shelter it has con~ to the attention of the City through the
contractor that several items require changes and would be the most
economical time to make these changes, which are as follows:
Item No. 1: Raising the west wall of the receiving room ~109 frem
4 ft. Height to the ceiling, preventing the loss of
heat frem the kennel area to the outside.
Item No. 2: Change 48" half height door, in the same West wall
to full height (6'8") also to retain heat in the
kennel area.
Item No. 3: Install electrical wiring and connection boxes for
for two (2), (owner) furnished outside lights for
lighting the outside area at rear and east end of
building.
Item No. 4: BJditional two foot cement walkway around entire
building for protection of foundation and creating
a walkway, concrete slab porch at rear door, and
approach for receiving room entrance.
Item No. 5: Add additional ceiling heater in the Southwest corner
of receiving room 9109 for heating this and the
Euthanasia rock.
Total amount of change order No. 1 is $3,965.00.
Change Order No. 2 - Due to poor soil conditions in the subgrade,
the architect is reconz~nding a change order be made to add a pier and
beam foundation with piers being built at a depth of 10 feet and belled,
and the installation of 12 inch wide beams with connecting piers. Total
amount of Change Order No. 2 - $9,820.00.
Additional Architect and Engineering fees - $327.50, for a total
of Change Order No. ,2 - $10,147.50.
Due to the change in foundation, the construction contractor
White & Prutzman is requesting an extention of thirty (30) days making
the total number of construction days of 150.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of
Plainview that Change Orders No. 1 and 2 be approved and that thirty

(30) days be added to the completion date deadline, making a total
D~L~ber of 150 days with the contract of White & Prutzman Construction
Ccapany.
