A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINV~,
TEXAS, ACCEPTING BIDS, AWARDING A CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AG~V. EMENT WITH WESTERN WR.I.L & PUMP
CO., INC. FOR DRILLING, CONSTRUCTING, DEVELOPING AND TEST-
lNG TWO D~MP WATER WRLIS FOR THE CITY OF PLAINV/EW.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview has prepared plans and
specifications for drilling constructing, developing and testing two
deep water wells for the City of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, on May 2, 1983, three sealed bids for performing this
specified work were received and publicly opened and read; and
WHEREAS, after evaluation of the bids receive, it is determined
tb~t the bid submitted by Western Well & Pump Co. of Colby, Kansas, is
the lowest and best bid submitted; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer rec~ds that the contract be awarded
to Western Well & Pump Co., Inc. based on its low bid of $23,479.35 for
alternate bid No lA (Well No.1, Reverse Circulation Drilling, continuous
slot, wire-wound well screen) and $20,465.14 for alternate bid No. 2A
(Well No. 2, Reverse Circulation Drilling, Continuous Slot, wire-wound
well screen) making a total combined bid price of $43,944.49; and
WHEREAS, FUNDS have been budgeted for the construction of said deep
water wells:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVHD by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Plainview, Texas that the bids be accepted, and the contract be
awarded to Western Well & Pump Co. based on its combined low bid of
$43,944.44 for alternate bids No. lA and 2A, and that the Mayor be
authorized to enter into and execute and agreement with Western Well &
Pump Co., Inc., for drilling, constructing, developing and testing two
deep water wells for the City of Plainview.
