A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR
FURNISHING, INSTALLING AND TESTING TWO DEEP WELL PUMPING
UNITS AND CONTROLS FOR THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW.
WHEREAS, two deep water wells have been drilled and constructed for
the City of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, there exists an urgent need to install pumping units in
those wells for production of water into the municipal water system of
the City of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, advertisement was published twice in the local newspaper
of general circulation, the first publication being made on July 29,
1983 and the second publication being made on August 3, 1983, for the
reception of bids for furnishing, installing and testing two deep well
pumping units and controls for the City of Plainview,; and
WHEREAS, Byron Jackson Pump Division, Borg-Warner Corporation,
submitted the only bid for said pumping units and controls; and
WHEREAS, said bid submitted has been reviewed by the City Engineer
and the Mayor and City Cauncil of the City of Plainview and has been
determined to be reasonable and proper bid; and
WHEREAS, adequate funds have been budgeted frc~ Revenue sharing
~count No. 27-720-60809 for such water system improvements; and
WHEREAS, the need for said pumping units and controls is urgent and
creates and emergency:
NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved by the Mayor and City Council that a
contract be and is hereby awarded to said Byron Jackson Pump Division
for furnishing, installing and testing two deep well pumping units and
controls for a total contract price of $44,616 which price is for one
(1) 1,000 GPM Submersible pumping unit and controls for water well No.1
and one (1) 800 GPM Line shaft vertical turbine pumping unit and
controls for water well No. 2; and
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to
execute a contract for said pumping units and controls.
PASSED AND APPRDVED this the 23rd day of August, 1983.
