A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAx~q/_RW, TEXAS AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R80-297
AND SPECIFYING SOME RESTRICTIVE USES OF THE ~S
G~qERATED BY THE HOTEL AND MOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX.
WHEREAS, the City of PlainviewonAugust 12, 1980, by Ordinance
No. 80-2397, levied a Hotel and Motel Occupancy Tax in the amount of
four per-cent (4%) to raise revenue to prcmote tourismand conventions
for the City of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, Section 7 of said Ordinance allowed the City of Plainview
to contract the administration of said funds with outside agencies that
being the Plainview Chamber of Conm~rce Convention and Tourism
C~t,]ttee, the Plainview Arts Council, and the Llano Estacado Museum;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council by enactment of Resolution R80-297
made certain restrictions and allocations of funds generated by the
Hotel and ~btel Occupancy Tax, and it is in the best interest of
the City and citizens at this time to establish a reserved fund so
that n~nies will be available in the event an opportunity becomes
available to assist in acquiring land or a building for a meeting
facility or parking area adjacent to a meeting facility:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVEDby the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Plainview:
Section 1:
That two per-cent (50%) of the revenues of the
four per-cent (4%) Hotel & Motel Occupancy Tax
be managed and obligated by the P!ainview Chamber
of C~-~,~rce Convention & Tourism Corm%ittee.
Section 2:
That one per-cent (25%) of the revenues of the
four per-cent (4%) Hotel & Motel Occupancy Tax
be set aside in a reserved fund and managed
by the City of Plainview, and expenditures
from said fund can only be authorized by the
Plainview City Council.
Section 3:
That one-half of oneper-cent (12.5%) of the
revenues of the four per-cent (4%) Hotel &Motel
Occupancy Tax be designated for the stimulation
and fostering of arts in the City of Plainview,
and be administered through the PlainviewArts
Council.

That one-half of one per-cent (12.5%) of the revenues
of the four per-cent (4%) Hotel &Motel Occupancy
Tax be designated for assistance in the continuing
construction of newand improved exhibits at
our conmunity's Llano Estacado Mnseum.
Any fund balance in the account desigo~ted
under Section 1 of this Resolution willbe
transferred to the reserved fund as established
by the Plainview City Council in Section 2 on
September 30th of each year.
THIS RESOLUTION SHALL TAKE AFFECT //~4ED~Y FROM AND AFTER ITS
PASSAGE.
