A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
P~, TEXAS APPOINTING R. MORRIS SMITH TO
THE PIA/19VIAW CITY COUNCIL TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED
TERM OF COUNCILMAN PLACE 3, A VACANCY CREATED BY
THE RESIGNATION OF LLOYD WOODS.
WHEREAS, the Plainview City Council has received and accepted
on November 8, 1983, the resignation of Lloyd Woods, Councilman
Place 3, from the City Council; and
WHEREAS; the Plainview City Charter §87, requires that when
such a vacancy occurs within six (6) months of the next regular
election an appointment must be made in a pro~pt manner and for
only the unexpired term of vacant office; and
WHEREAS; the Plainview City Council is pleased to appoint
R. MORRIS SMITH to serve as Councilman Place 3:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Plainview, Texas that R. MORRIS SMITH be appointed
to fill the vacancy and remaining term of Councilman Place 3 and
that we look forward to having R. MORRIS SMITH join with us in
serving this fine c~-a¥~dnity.
