A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ACCEPT THE PRDVISIONS OF THE
TEXAS DEPT. OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION MINUTE
ORDER NO. 81738 AUTHORIZING IMPROVEME~WfS TO BE MADE TO
SOUTHWEST 3RD STREET.

WHEREAS, On March 14, 1984, the State Department of Highways and
Public Transportation passed Minute Order No. 81738 designating a Farm
Market Road on Southwest 3rd Street extending from Interstate Highway 27
to Loop 445, a distance of approximately 2.6 miles; and
WHEREAS, the improvements made to this street have been long sought
by the citizens of Plainview and will be a great benefit to this
cormmmity; and
WHEREAS, the Plainview City Council accepts the action contained in
the Minute Order so that work may begin in developing the plans and
specifications for the improvements to be made:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Plainview, Texas that the City accept the action taken in the
Minute Order No. 81738 passed by the Highway Commission of the Texas
Dept. of Highways and Public Transportation and expresses sincere
gratitude to the members of the Highway Conmission, and to Mr. Ben
Alley, District Engineer for the assistance on this important project in
our conlmlnity.

1983-1984 Farm'to Market Road Program
Dear Mayor Ridlehuber:
We are attaching a copy of Minute Order No. 81738 passed 'by the
HighWay Commission on March 14, 1984, designating a Farm to Market
Road as follows:
In Hale County a Farm to Market Road is designated in
Plainview on Southwest Third Street extending from
Interstate Highway 27 to Loop 445, a distance of
approximately 2.6 miles.
This Minute Order requires acceptance by the city of Plainview within
90 days of the date of the Minute Order or the action contained
therein shall be automatically cancelled.
We are enclosing three copies of a suggested resolution to be passed
by the Plainview City Council. Please return two certified copies
of this resolution to us for further handling.

mately 2.6 miles, subject to the ¢onditiom that Male County and the City of ?!ainview
will furnish all required right of way clear of obstructiona and free of cost to the
State and acquisition procedures will be in accordance with applicable Federal and
State laws governing the acquisition PoIi¢ies for acquiring real property.
At such time as Hale County and the City of Plainview shall accept the provision of
this Order and agree to the furnishing of the required right of way, the
Engineer-Director is directed to proceed with the engineering developmemt a~d
construction of the project in the most feasible and economical manmer at an esti-
mated cost of $392,100, financing the cost with funds released by automatic can~
celtation of a propozed Project in GAINES COUNTy extending from Farm to Market Road
1757, 3.0 miles East of New Mexico S--tare Lime, South .~o end of Farm to Market tLpad'
3306, a distance of approximately 4°0 milez. The Engineer-Director {m directed to
assume the road for State maintenance upon completion o~ the constructlon.
This Order is subject to, acceptance by Hale Co~ty and ~he C~t~ o~ ~lainview amd if
not accepted within 90 ~ays of the date hereof~ the actiom herein contained shall be
automatically cancelled.
