A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW
APPROVING THE LEASING OF LAND TO ERNEST EBELING, DIRECTING
THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE A LEASE AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZ-
ING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW.
WHEREAS, Ernest Ebelin§ desires to lease two tracts of land owned
by the City of Plainview and being a 7.8015 acre tract west of Joliet
Street and south of 37th Street and a 5.6280 acre tract west of Joliet
Street between Industrial Boulevard and 37th Street said tracts being
land reserved for industrial uses; and'
~HE.REAS, Ernest Ebeling agrees to cultiVate and maintain said land
to prevent erosion and the growth of undesirable vegetation in exchange
for the use of the land for experimentation and development of dryland
farming equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview has determined
that said terms of such a lease would be fair and equitable to both parties
and that the development of such farming equipment is an industrial activity
which will benefit the community and is in keeping with the purposes for
which the land is reserved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Plainview that said two tracts of land be leased to Ernest Ebeling on an
annual basis in exchange for the cultivation and maintenance of the land,
that the city attorney be and is hereby directed to prepare the necessary
lease agreement and that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to execute
said lease agreement on behalf of the City of Plainv~ew.
