A RESOLUTION OF THE CITYCOUNCILOF THE CITYOF PIAINVIE~,
TEXAS AM~qDING RESOLUTION NO. R83-636 AND SPECIFYING SOME
RESTRICTIVE USES OF THE~SGENERATEDBYTHEHOTEL/
MDTEL~ANCYTAX.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview on October 9, 1984, by Ordinance No.
84-2569, levied a Hotel/Motel Occupancy Tax in the amount of seven
percent (7%) to raise revenue robe utilized in prcmoting the greater
Plainviewarea; and
WHEREAS, State Statutes allow the City of Plainview to contract the
administration of said funds with outside agencies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to contract the administration of
a portion of said funds with outside agencies:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLV~Dbythe Mayor and City Council of the
City of Plainview, Texas:

$26,263 of the tax received will be managed and
obligated by the PlainviewChamber of ~rce
Convention and TourismCommittee.
$17,926 of the tax shall be set aside in a reserve fund
and managedby the City of Plainview and expenditures
from the fund shall only be authorized bythe Plainview
City Council.
$6,566 of the tax shall be designated for the
stimulation and fostering of arts in the City of
Plainview, and be administered throughthe Plainview
ArtsCouncil.
$6,566 of the tax shall be designated for assistance in
the continuing construction of new and improved
exhibits at the PlainviewLlano EstacadoMuseum.
The remainder of thetaxwill be "held"bythe City of
Plainview and will be disbursed for "special projects"
with the final determination as to whether or not a
"special project" willbe funded beingmadeby the
PlainviewCityCouncil.

In the interest of effective cash flow management the
schedule of disbursements, to the managing agencies,
shall be approved by the City Manager.
The Plainview City Council reserves the right to alter
the appropriation to the managing agencies, at any
time during the 1984-85 fiscal year.
For accounting purposes receipt and disbursement of
funds shall coincide with the City of Plainview's
fiscal year, which commences on October 1, and ends
on September 30.
Any fund balance as of September 30th of each year will
be transferred to the reserve fund as established by
the Plainview City cOUncil in Section 2 of this
resolution.
THIS RESOLUTION SHALL TAKE EFFECT I/~qEDIATELY FROM AND AFTER ITS
PASSAGE.
