RESOLUTION NO. R86-951
A RESOULUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS DESIGNATING THE PLAINVIEW INDUSTRIAL FOUNDATION, INC., AS
THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW'S LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION
WITH THE TEXAS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AND THE TEXCEL
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview, Plainview Chamber of Commerce,
and Plainview Industrial Foundation are "partners" in promoting
economic development for the City of Plainview and the surrounding
area and;
WHEREAS, the TEXCEL Program of the Texas Economic Development
Committee consponsored by the Texas Municipal League and the Texas
Industrial Development Council, calls for the designation of a
single organization to serve as contact for the TEXCEL Program and;
WHEREAS, the TEXCEL program appears to be a worthwhile project
for the City of Plainview, Plainview Chamber of Commerce, and the
Plainview Industrial Foundation to participate in, in order to
further promote economic development for the City of Plainview and
the surrounding area.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Plainview, Texas that the Plainview Industrial Foundation is
hereby designated as the Local Economic Development Organization for
the City of Plainview as it pertains to the Texas Economic
Development Commission TEXCEL Program, and the Executive Vice
President of the Plainview Industrial Foundation is designated as
the contact person.
NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Plainview pledges
to continue to assist the Plainview Chamber of Commerce and the
Plainview Industrial Foundation in their economic development
efforts and this Council urges that the three organizations continue
to work closely together for the betterment of the City of Plainview
and the surrounding area.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of January , 1986, by vote
of the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas.
