RESOLUTION NO. R87-204
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS OFFICIALLY DESIGNATING THE
PLAINVIEW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BUILDING AS A
CIVIC CENTER FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, recognizes
the activities and uses in the past in regard to the Chamber of
Commerce building, and that such activities and uses have been in the
nature of conducting a solicitation and operating program to attract
conventions, meetings, and visitors either by the city or through
contracts with persons or organizations selected by the city, and
WHEREAS, the Plainview Chamber of Commerce building has been
used and will continue to be used as a meeting site and convention
site for out of town visitors and tourists, and
WHEREAS, the Plainview Chamber of Commerce is under an agreement
with the City to provide for the general promotional and tourist
advertising of the city:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the City Council
of the City of Plainview, Texas, that the Plainview Chamber of
Commerce building be officially designated as a civic center facility
of the City of Plainview.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 27th day of January, 1987.
