PLAINVIEW, TEXAS DfELARING THE RESULTS OF THE
CITY OFFICERS' RUN-OFF RLFI3TION ON MAY 13, 1986.
ORDER DECLARING RESULT OF CITY OFFICERS' RUN-OFF ~.VCTION
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OFHALE
CITY OF PLAINVIEW
On this the 13th day of May, 1986, the City Council of the City of
Plainview, TExas, convened at the regular meeting place thereof with the
following members present, to-wit:
Don Dickson, Barbara Dorm~n, Junior Brown, Bobby J~mes,~;~a~3~

and the ~- following absent:
constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had, were the
following:
Councilmember Tom ~lay introduced a resolution and
ordered and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by
Councilmsmber Andy Taylor , and the motion carrying with the
adoption of the resolution and order prevailed bythe following vote,
Ayes: 6
Noes: 0
The resolution is as follows:
There came on to be considered the returns of an run-off election
held on the 13th day of May, 1986, for the purpose of electing the
hereinafter named officials, and it appearing frc~a said returns, duly
and legally made, that there were cast at said run-off election 267
votes; and that each of the candidates in said run-off election received
the following votes:
FOR COUNC~ER PRECINCT ONE
Alton Jackson - 86
R&becca Escalante - 36
FOR COUNC~ER PRBCINCT TWO
Terry Clements - 94
Paul Wright - 58
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED B~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLA/NVIEW, TEXAS:

That said run-off election was duly called; that notice of said
run-off election was given in accordance with law, and that said run-off
election was held in accordance with law, and that:
SECTION 1: ~flton Jackson was duly elected Counci~r
for Precinct 1 on the City Council of the City of Plainview, and that
said Alton Jackson is hereby declared elected to said office of
Councilmember for Precinct 1 on the City Council of the City of
Plainview, subject to the taking of his Oath of Office as provided by
the laws of the State of Texas; and
SECTION 2: Terry Cle~-~ts was duly elected Councilmember
for Precinct 2 on the City Council of the City of Plainview, and that
said Terry Clements is hereby declared elected to said office
of Councilmember for Precinct 2 on the City Council of the City of
Plainview, subject to the taking of his Oath of Office as provided by
the laws of the State of Texas.
