A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS ENDORSING THE CONCEPT OF ENHANCED
"911" SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW AND AUTHORIZING
CITY ADMINISTRATION TO COMPLETE A STUDY ON THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF A "911" SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview provides emergency services as
it pertains to police, fire and emergency medical services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview Police Department serves as a
central dispatch for these services within the confines of Plainview
City limits;
WHEREAS, an enhanced "911" system would improve response time
for the various emergency services of the City of Plainview.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the City Council
that the City of Plainview hereby endorses the concept of an
enhanced "911" system for the City of Plainview; and
FURTHERMORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
authorize the City Administration to complete a study on the
implementation of a "911" system as soon as practicable for the City
Of Plainview.
