R86-153 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF-PLAINVIEW, TEXAS APPROPRIATING $12,486.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW TO PAY ONE-HALF OF THE RELOCATION COST OF SOUTHWESTERN PUBLIC SERVICE FACILITIES ON SOUTHWEST THIRD. WHEREAS, the City of Plainview recognizes the importance of paving Southwest Third from Interstate 27 to Columbia Street; and WHEREAS, the State Highway Department is in the process of preparing specifications for the paving of said street; and WHEREAS, the State Highway Department has informed the City that numerous utility poles owned by Southwestern Public Service Company, need to be relocated; and WHEREAS, Southwestern Public Service has estimated that the cost of relocating the poles will be $24,972.00; and WHEREAS, the City of Plainview feels that it is in the best interest of the City that this project be completed as soon as possible. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council the City of Plainview, Texas that the City allocate $12,486.00 from its general fund to pay for one-half of the cost of relocating the Southwestern Public Service Company utility poles located along Southwest Third. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Plainview hereby respectfully request that the Hale County Commissioners Court allocate the other one-half of the money for the relocation of the poles.
