RESOLUTION NO. R86-189
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PROCEED WITH
THE FINALIZATION OF PLANS WITH THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
FOR PAVING SOUTHWEST THIRD.
WHEREAS, the Community has been working on the Southwest Third
Project for many years; and
WHEREAS, a proposal has been developed whereby Southwest Third
may be paved as an Urban Section; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Section would result in a paving surface of
64 feet with curb and gutter; and
WHEREAS, the total anticipated local cost
is estimated at $279,039.00; and
for the Urban Section
WHEREAS, the City and County have agreed on a funding
for the Urban Section.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the City Council
of the City of Plainview, Texas that the City does hereby agree to
fund 63% of the non-assessable property cost leaving 37% for the
County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the Southwest Third Project is to
be Paved as a farm to market section then the City will finance 60%
of the local cost and the County 40%.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is
authorized to finalize plans with the County and the State
Department for this important project.
