RESOLUTION NO. R87-221
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS IDENTIFYING CHANGES IN
SERVICES PROVIDED BY PLAINVIEW CABLE T.V.
WHEREAS, the existing Cable T.V. Franchise calls for a Performance
Review every fifth year; and
WHEREAS, the city of Plainview conducted a Performance Review on
January 27, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview and Plainview Cable ToV. have agreed
to make the following changes:
1. Plainview Cable T.V. will remit the franchise
fee on a quarterly basis commencing with the
first calendar quarter of 1987.
2. Plainview Cable T.V. will move forward in the
elimination of duplication of service with the
first step to be completed within the next
twelve to sixteen weeks through taking KAMC,
out of Lubbock, and placing it on Channel 22.
Channel 6, which is currently carrying KAMC,
will have the USA Cable Network placed on said
Channel. Channel 22 will not be a scrambled
signal and those with Cable Ready T.V. may
easily view KAMC on 22. Those who do not have
Cable Ready T.V., with minor adjustments, can
receive KAMC instead of KVII, on Channel 7, if
they so desire. Also if an individual wishes
to acquire a "box" in order to view Channel 22
then said box may be secured from Plainview
Cable T.V. for a ,,nominal fee." Within the
next twelve to twenty-four months Plainview
Cable T.V. will have additional channel
capacity and will provide additional
programming in order to correct the duplication
of the two NBC Stations.
3. Plainview Cable T.V. will continue to respond
to complaints, at no charge, concerning
inconsistent reception.
4. Plainview Cable T.V. will, from this day forth,
provide a combined single limit General
Liability Insurance Policy of $1,000,000.00.
5. Plainview Cable T.V. will conduct a survey of
Plainview consumers in order to determine what
type of programming is desired.
6. The City of Plainview recognizes that the final
decision for programming, by law, is the
responsibility of Plainview Cable T.V.
