RESOLUTION NO. R87-234
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE CITY OF
OF PLAIBFVIEW, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACT
AS THE CITY'S CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED
REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S
PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS CO~I(UNITY DEVELOPHENT BLOCK
~RANT PRO~I~.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the' City of Plainview desires to
develop a viable urban community, including decent housing and a
suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities,
principally for persons of low and moderate income; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best public interest that the
City 6f Plainview avail itself of the Community Development Block Grant
Program for small cities under Title I of the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended, and administered under Texas
Department of Community Affairs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview desires the
Mayor to act as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized
Representative.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas, that the City Council directs and designates the Mayor
as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to
act in all matters in connection with the application, amendment and the
City's participation in the Texas Development Block Grant Program.

certify that the above Resolution was adopted by the Plainview City
Council on April 28, 1987.
