Mark Hazdin called the meeting to order at 7:02 P. M_
FIRST ITEM ON THE AGENDA: SWEAR IN MEMBERS; No members sworn in.
SECOND ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Approval of N[ay 5, 2008 minutes. Fred Willis made
motion to approve minutes as presented Larry Gould seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
THIRD ITEM ON THE AGENDA: BA Case # 1549 The request of Lester Huffine for a
variance of nineteen (l9) feet of the required twenty-five (25) foot front setback as stated in
Section 34 of the City of Plainview Zoning Ordinance to construct an 18'X2I' carport in a
Single Family Residential (R-2) Zoning District, and }~eing Lot 4, Block 3, Shepard-Couch
Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas the same being 912 W. 26`~ Street. Lester Huffine is
present to answer questions from tl~e Board. John Castro showed the Board a site plan and
pictures of the property as well as a picture of a prefabnicated carport similar to the one being
proposed. Based on this being the only logics} place for the carport and the positive responses
from the neighborhood Fred Willis made a motion to approve the variance. Larry Gould
seconded. Motion carried 11*!animously.
FOURTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: BA Case # 1550 The request of Geneva L. Waldrep
for a variance of twenty-two (22) feet of the required thirty (30) foot front setback and five (5)
feet of the required eight (8) foot side setback as stated io Section 34 of the City of Plainview
Zoning Ordinance to construct a 12'X20' carport in a Single Family Residential (R-1} Zoning
District, and being Lot 10, Block 4, Brander Addition, Flfunview, Hale County, Texas the same
being 811 Borger Street. Charles and Fred Bechtold are present to answer questions from the
Board. John Castro showed the Board a site plan of the F~roperty showing the proposed carport
and pictures of the property. There were four (4) responses received from the neighborhood
which were all in favor of the request. Based on the positive response from the neighborhood
and this being the only logical place for a carport, Fred Willis made a motion to approve the
variance. Larry Gould seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
