A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS ADOPTING LOCAL ELECTION REGISTER FOR
THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 10, 2008.
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Plainview, Texas, on May 10, 2008, a General
Election for the position of Councilmember District 6; and
WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 134 votes as shown on the official election
results heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas,
and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted in said election and
said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of Texas;
and
WHEREAS, the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of the
City of Plainview, Texas, on May 16, 2008; and showed the following results:
Councilmember District 6
Wendell Dunlap 61 49 110

Lionel A. Garcia 14 10 24
Early Votes Election Day Total Votes
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. Wendell Dunlap is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of
Councilmember District 6.
Section 2. The above canvass is, and the same is hereby in all things approved.
Passed and approved this 16 day of May, 2008.
