RESOLUTION NO. R79-166
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS,'APPROVING THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT BETWEEN TEXAS TECH
UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF PARKS ADMINISTRATION AND LANDSCAPING
ARCHITECTURE AND THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO SUCH AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, The City of Plainview is in need of a current comprehensive
Master Plan for its Parks, Open Space, Playas and Flood Ways; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview desires to develop and maintain Running
Water Draw as a designated permanent Open Space as proposed in the City's
~omprehensive Plan of Development, providing for recreation areas, permanent
open spaces, landscaped and natural areas, natural and unobstructed drainage
and visual breaks in the pattern and intensity of urban developments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview wishes to consider the needs and desires
of the residents of this City while updating the Master Plan for Parks and
Recreation; and
WHEREAS; the Department of Parks Administration of Texas Tech University
desires to conduct research and studies to assist the City in it's project;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Plainview, Texas instructs the City Manager to execute an agreement with
the Department of Parks Administration and Laqdscape Architecture of Texas Tech
University to accomplish the aforementioned g~als and the allocates and amount
not to exceed $7,500.00 of Revenue Sharing Funds to this project.
