A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION
SUBMITTED TO FARMERS HOME ADMINISTRATION BY THE
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF ADDITIONAL DWELLING UNITS TO BE
LOCATED AT THE DATE STREET HOUSING PROJECT.
WHEREAS, insanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling accomodations
exist in the City of Plainview, Texas; and
WHEREAS, there is a shortage of safe and sanitary dwelling
accomodations in said city available to families of low income
at rentals they can afford; and
WHEREAS, many of the families in need of low income housing
are involved in the agriculture activities surrounding our community;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Plainview, Texas, recognizing the need for this project
in Plainview supports and requests favorable consideration be given
to the application as submitted by the Plainview Housing Authority
and Farmers Home Administration for the construction of 36 additional
units to be located at the Date Street Housing Project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THE 13th day of November, 1979.
