RESOLUTION NO. R82-490
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS AWARDING THE BID AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF ~I~TERIAL FOR A TURF IRRIGATION
SYSTEM IN LAKESIDE PARK.
WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the Land and Water
Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (Public Law 88-578), authorizing the
Secretary of Interior to provide financial assistance to.the states and
political subdivisions thereof, for outdoor recreation purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has adopted Article 6081r, V.A.C.S.,
for the purpose of allowing the State of Texas, and its political sub-
divisions, to participate in the Federal Program established under said Public
Law 88-578, or such other programs as are hereinafter established by the
Federal Government; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview has applied for and received assistance
under this Program, and Community Development Funds are available for
purchase of the material; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview has caused the
specifications and contract documents to be duly advertised; and
NOW, THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Plainview, Texas, to authorize the Mayor to sign the contracts indibated
below for the purchase of the material for the construction of a Turf
Irrigation System in Lakeside Park:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Plainview hereby
award the bid of $5,545.63 to Doc Savage Supply of Amarillo, Tx.
for general materials, PVC pipe, fittings and tubing for said
sprinkler system.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Plainview hereby
award the bid of $6,601.05 to O'Toole Plastic Pipe of Lubbock, Texas
for Sprinkler Controllers and heads for said sprinkler system.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 23rd day of March, 1982.
