A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS ACCEPTING THE BIDS AWARDING A PURCHASE FOR INTER-
SECTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS TO BE USED FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALS
TO BE INSTALLED ON AND ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 70 AND TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT FOR CONSULTING SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Highways and Public Trans-
portation has completed plans and specifications for the re-building
of U.S. Highway 70 in Plainview, Hale County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of the Community,s safety and citizen
welfare, the City Council desires to improve the traffic signalization
along this street by installing new and modern signal systems; and
WHEREAS, the invitation for bids were duly advertised and three
(S) bids were received and opened on March 2S 1982 at 10:00 a.m.,
and , '
WHEREAS, the lowest and best bid for Traffic Management Systems
is Traffic Signal Equipment, Inc. of Fort Worth Texas with a bid
amount of 22,246.50; and '
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to employ consultant services
to assist in the engineering design and installation of this intersec-
tion management system and it is recommended that 3~ Company of St. Paul
Minnesota be employed in the amount of $1,140:
NO~, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Plainview, Texas that a purchase be entered into wfth
Traffic Signal Equipment Inc. in the amount of $22~246.S0 and that a
consultant agreement entered into with SM Company of St. Paul, MN in
the amount of $1,140 and the total amount of $23 386.50 be appropriated
from Street Bond Funds. '
