A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS,
APPROPRIATING $8,995.32 FROM THE REVENUE SHARING FUND AS FINAL
PAYMENT TO HIGH PLAINS PAVERS, INC. FOR WORK PERFORMED UNDER
CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATE NO. 4 & FINAL FOR CONCRETE ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview entered into a $23,986.80 contract with
High Plains Pavers, Inc. for the construction of concrete alley improvements in
the 600 block, between 6th and 7th, Broadway to Austin Street on July 14, 1981;
and
WHEREAS the merchants and property owners adjacent to said alley have
made commitments to the City of Plainview,-to participate in 50% of the cost of
such construction and improvements; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. R82-470 dated January 12, 1982, the City
Council of the City of Plainview authorized the extension of said contract to
include the construction of concrete alley improvements in the alley south of
7th Street between Austin Street and Baltimore Street; and
WHEREAS, by said Resolution No. R82-470, the City Council of the City of
Plainview agreed to participate in the cost of said additional improvements in
an amount not to exceed $6,590.00; and
WHEREAS, work to be performed under the original contract and the authorized
addition to the original contract has been completed and the City Engineer
recommends final acceptance of the work; and
WHEREAS,~the City Engineer has submitted Construction Estimate No. 4 and
Final, on behalf of High Plains Pavers, Inc., in the amount of $8,995.32, which
amount includes $2,405.72 retained on the original, contract and $6,589.60 for
additional work performed, and
WHEREAS, said expenditure should be charged to Revenue Sharing Fund Account
No. 27-612-60807;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council to accept the
construction of concrete alley improvements in the 600 blocks between Broadway
and Baltimore Streets and to appropriate $8,995.32 from the Revenue Sharing
Fund Account No. 27-612-60807 as final payment to High Plains Pavers, Inc., as
shown in Construction Estimate No. 4 and Final for Concrete Alley Improvements,
such payment completing partiCipation by the City of Plainview in the original
contract and the additional authorized work.
