RES~ OLU~ION No. R82-546
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT: AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO ACT AS THE CITY'S CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED
REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview desires to develop a
viable urban community, including decent housing and a suitable living
environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for
persons of low and moderate income; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best public interest that the City
of Plainview avail itself of the Community Development Block Grant
Program for Small Cities under Title I of the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview desires the Mayor to
act as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized
Representative;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOtVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS:
That a Community Development Block Grant application for
discretionary funds under the Small Cities Program is hereby
authorized to be filed on behalf of the City with the
Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development.

That the City Council directs and designates the Mayor as the
City's Chief executive Officer and Authorized Representative
to act in all matters in connection with this application and
the City's participation in the Community Development Block
Grant Program.
