A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI~f OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS AUTHORiZiNGTHECITYMANAGERTO

WHEREAS, the City of Plainviewhasbeen notified bythe Texa~
Depto of Water ~sources that the City is eligible for funding of a
construction grant which wi!l make needed improvements to Plainview's
sewage collection and treatment facilities; and
W/qEREAS, the amount of this grant if $1.3 million with the
City's portion being approximately $433,000 and the local matching share
must be committed prior to execution of the grant; and
WHEREAS, these funds are available through the Plainview
Utility Fund by borrowing from various accounts but the commitment must
be made to pay the funds back to the various accounts, and this should
be done by proceeds from a rate increase of $1.25 to become effective
January 1, 1983:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the ~yor and City Council of
the City of Plainview, Texas that the City Manager be authorized to
notify the Texas Dept. of Water Resources that the City of Plainview
will accept the grant and that the local matching share will be
available when required and will be funded in part by a sewer rate
increase to be effective on January 1, 1983.
