RESOLUTION NO. R88-163
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE NECESSARY AGREEMENTS WITH PROPERTY OWNERS ON
SOUTH ENNIS AND THE PLAINVIEW INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT IN ORDER TO COMPLETE, IN A TIMELY FASHION,
THE PAVING OF SOUTH ENNIS IN ORDER TO SERVE A
PRE-K THRU 4 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the Plainview Independent School District, in order to
meet State mandates, has indicated it desires to construct a Pre-K
thru 4 Elementary School on South Ennis Street; and
WHEREAS, the Plainview City Council has expressed an interest in
assisting the School in accomplishing said goals; and
WHEREAS, additional right-of-way and financing will need to be
secured from property owners along South Ennis Street; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor will need to execute agreements with property
owners on South Ennis Street; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor will need to execute agreements with the
Plainview 'Independent School District concerning the School
construction project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute
the necessary agreements with the property owners on South Ennis
Street in order to secure right-of-way and financing; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorized, upon
review by the City Council, to execute any documents which are
necessary for accomplishing the construction of a Pre-K thru 4
Elementary School on South Ennis with the Plainview Independent
School District.
